Understanding how and when you get paid is important. This guide covers everything about host payouts on RentShortlet.

How Payouts Work

Payment Timeline

1. Guest books: Guest payment is processed immediately
2. Funds hold: Payment is held securely by RentShortlet
3. Guest checks in: Booking officially starts
4. Payout release: 24 hours after check-in, funds are released to you

Payout Schedule

• Payouts are typically processed within 1-3 business days
• First-time hosts may experience slightly longer processing times
• Holiday periods may cause delays

Setting Up Payouts

Add Payout Method

1. Go to Hosting Dashboard
2. Click Add payout method
3. Choose your preferred method:
   • Nigerian bank account
   • Mobile wallet (coming soon)

Required Information

For bank transfers, provide:

• Account name (must match your ID)
• Account number
• Bank name
• Account type (Savings/Current)

Verification

First payout requires:

• Government-issued ID verification
• Bank account verification (may require test deposit)
• Business registration (for companies)

Payout Amount Calculation

Your payout includes:

Guest payment
- RentShortlet service fee (10%)
- Payment processing fee (2.5%)
= Your payout

Service Fees

• Standard service fee: 10% of booking subtotal
• Includes 24/7 support, payment processing, insurance protection
• Fee is clearly shown before you accept bookings

Example Calculation

If a guest books for ₦50,000:

• Guest payment: ₦50,000
• Service fee (10%): ₦5,000
• Processing fee (2.5%): ₦1,250
• Your payout: ₦43,750

Payout Methods

Bank Transfer (Recommended)

• Processing time: 1-3 business days
• Fees: No additional fees
• Minimum: No minimum payout amount
• Availability: All Nigerian banks

Mobile Wallet (Coming Soon)

• Processing time: Instant to 24 hours
• Fees: May vary by provider
• Minimum: ₦1,000
• Availability: Major providers

Viewing Payout History

Track your earnings:

1. Go to Hosting > Payouts
2. View transaction history
3. Download statements for accounting
4. See upcoming payouts
